Scholarships

Scholarships are important because they offer opportunities. Kids that may not come from a wealthy home have the chance to get some money to ease the financial pressure on themselves. The are basically free money for whoever gets to them first. Kids who really want it bad enough can go after them and get their opportunity. The importance of scholarships is for kids to work hard and put a lot of effort in something that can pay off in the long run.

All I have to do left is apply to cedar valley. I have already gotten my financial aid and other stuff. I Plan on applying in a couple weeks or so. Academically I think I am where I need to be. My grades are fine and I stay on top of my work for the most part. I think this college is for me because it will help me save money and get my basic stuff out of the way.

Foreign country

I think the college degree is well worth its value. Depending on your economic situation, you may be in debt for a while paying back college loans but its well worth it. With a degree you can get almost any job you desire. People who have a degree are socially accepted by society because they did the time in college. Nowadays you have to have a degree to get a job or start a career. Degrees somewhat give you the reassurance of economic sustainability. They allow you to apply for a job and most likely get it, they allow you to go after your dreams and live the life you want not the one you wish you had. Degrees give you a sort of satisfaction that most people need. They're a security blanket for people, because with our economy we all need some security.

Our school system is very good compared to most countries, we have so many opportunities that other countries don't have. The country me and my partner did was brazil. Brazil schools have plumbing problems and are not as high tech as our American schools. Our schools offer special programs for special kids. Their schools don't have the resources to separate kids like that. They aren't as blessed as we are with money. The countries economy directly effects their schools. Although Brazil is trying to invest in their school systems more because they know it is a vital step to their growth as a country. We have so many opportunities, we have opportunities in sports, grades, and talents.

Sprang Brake

For spring break I just relaxed a lot. I went to the gym almost every day and had work Monday to Wednesday. I hung out with my friends a lot and had a lot of fun. Friday me and my friends went down to San Marcos and floated the river. We were the only ones on it and it took 5 hours. I busted my tail bone, and got really sunburned during the process. All together it was a good week.

Friday

1. The most influential leader I have ever had is my father. He has done so much in his life and has taught me so much. He has taught me to be a good man and how to live respectively.
2. I think this quote means that we live for things that we are passionate about so we have to document our passions and put them into writings. I agree with what he says. poetry is a beautiful thing and takes a lot of deep thought to understand it. I didn't really care for poetry before this movie, but the movie changed my point of view about it. I think its a great way to express yourself.
3. I agree with what he says. If we are in the mix of the world and always in the bullcrap we wont see the world for what it really is. We need a different perspective of the world to get a better understanding. Being quite and just listening to things really helps me get a good perspective of life and the people around me.
4. I hope that I can be a person that inspires people to better themselves and find their true meanings in life.

Thursday

1. I think that he wouldn't have committed suicide. I think this because Keating showed him to think for himself and express himself. Before he wouldn't have even questioned his dad or tried to second guess his requests. Neil finally felt the freedom and self expression he'd been wanting through Keating, and when his dad took it away he lost his mind and ended his life.
2. The Bravest was Knox because all the odds were against him. The girl he wanted was taken, she was way out of his league and he had no game. Although he was scared he went after the girl and got her simply by being himself and showing her that he was a good guy. The coward is Cameron. He was afraid of change and did what the elders told him to do. He is a coward.
3. I think Keating put it there. He saw the potential in his students and wanted to see them flourish. He knew that he could get in trouble but he was a risk taker and took that risk.

Different

I think the theme for the movie is to be unique. Before the teacher met them they were all the same kids and did what everyone thought and said. When they met Keating they instantly thought he was weird because they haven't met a teacher that taught like him. He was special and most of all unique. The students thrived off of this and wanted to be different like he was. The boys went off and did their own things, but they were doing things they would've never have done if they didn't learn to be unique and stand out.

Tuesday

1. The character that changed the most is Knox. He changed because he saw what he wanted went after it. He went out of his comfort zone to get the girl of his dreams.
2. The character that didn't change is the red head. He tagged along with the guys and hung out with them, but he never changed throughout the film. He even told on the guys.
3. He is a free and independent character. He isn't changed because he doesn't need to change. He has everything figured out and influences others for the better.
4. Todd- He doesn't like to read and is afraid to speak up. He overcomes this with the help of Keating.
Neil- He is afraid of his dad. He stands up to his dad, but he finally cant take it and kills himself.
Knox is shy and wants the girl of his dreams. He overcomes this by stepping out and going after his goals.
Charlie was scared of conformity. He never wanted to blend in, he wanted to stand out.

Mona Lisa

The roles of women in the movie were horrible and I cannot see how any woman would look forward to fulfilling that role for the rest of their lives. I think that the women hated the fact that they were pre destined to be a house wife and cook and clean all the time while their husband was out exploring the business world and meeting new people. Women back then were so eager to get married and start a family like it was a schedule they had to follow. Ever since they were younger they have been told what to do and how to do it so they just kept following that routine up until they got married.
Kathrine Watson saw the girls as everyone saw the guys. She saw them with every opportunity at their disposal. She saw them as someone who could do anything they wanted with their life. They were the smartest girls in the country and they were well respected in the educational world.  She saw them as equal and higher educated individuals.

Comparism

The style that Charles dickens is trying to prevail is that school and learning is all about facts. He says that all things people should know is facts. This method doesn't allow you to think outside the box, It makes you think about everything that is already right in front of you. Ms. Watsons way is very loose and makes you think for yourself rather than providing you with the things you should think about. Her method promotes selfullness and individuality. The difference between the two methods is that Charles way is old school and traditional. Watsons way is new and free, which allows for new ideas which the world today needs.

Mona Lisa

I think the movie was full of a lot of problems that women dealt with back in the 40's and 50's. The movie has a lot of mean people in it that I wanted to punch in the face. The movie also depicted how much they drank and smoked back then. The movie also shows how women are becoming smarter and becoming independent. This movie is also about the girls rushing to get married and living a life of cooking and cleaning.

Mona Lisa

I think this movie is about a teacher that wants the opportunity to teach some of the smartest girls. The girls are so smart and use to having everything they want that they freak out when the teacher is strict and doesn't have any mercy on them. Its also about finding love as a young person and the journey that they all go on. I feel like they all come together in the end and are a big family.

College vs. High School

I think you need to prepare accordingly for each level of exam. The obvious differences are that you need to study more thoroughly and actually understand the concepts that you learned. I think they'll be longer and you'll have to put more thought into your answers especially if the exam or test is a self answer. High school exams are definitely easier and not a lot of  preparation that you have to do. College exams are long and require a lot of dedication to studying and readiness. You can prepare for both by taking notes in class, asking questions if you don't understand something, and study over the material before the exam.
